This paper presents validation results for a cognitive pilot model that is the core of a new methodology for predicting and evaluating human-machine interaction in aircraft cockpits with the objective to assess the impact of a new system design on overall flight crew performance. The validation is performed based on a comparison of data produced by the model and data recorded in simulator experiments with 16 airline pilots. Results are shown for comparison of gaze distribution, gaze dwell time, execution time and reaction time.
