Transformers play a crucial role in electric power systems They are subjected to thermal, electrical, and mechanical stresses during operation, due to accelerated aging and faults inside the transformers (e.g. overloading, moisture, temperatures), monitoring the condition to protect the equipment is an essential requirement, which must be considered. Finding an innovative way for continues monitoring and detect an out-of-control situation to achieve the appropriate balance between cost, risk, and performance is the aim of this paper. In this research, we review three different smart services applied to transformers in an effort to improve performance, enhance reliability, and reduce operational costs. The proposed model solution provides an integrated approach to risk management and demonstrates a roadmap to address fault detection.
