On the Architecture Development of Utility Enterprises with Special Respect to the Gap Analysis of Application Landscapes

This contribution provides an approach for architecture development of utility enterprises by introducing gap analysis of application landscapes. It is shown how an ideal application landscape for electric distribution can be derived by using the Quasar Enterprise methodology and a utility domain model. Several metrics are presented to measure distance between current and ideal application landscapes and a tool is introduced in order to support gap analysis.
