Health care belongs to socio-technical systems which are complex and technological prone to accidents. In such systems communication is a major factor for accidents. This paper shows a concept for the documentation and analysis of communication in hierarchical task models. It provides an overview of an approach, which documents communication in an extended hierarchical task model. The proposed method offers a systematic heuristical approach to find weak points with the communication of a socio-technical system especially within medical environment. As a modeling environment, taking into account the special needs for such systems, AMBOSS is used. It allows the specification of rules, objects, topology of tasks, risk assessment factors, barriers and most notably the information flow between tasks.
