WeR3t-Netze Regionale Wertschöpfungsnetzwerke für Resilienz und Ressourcenschonung

Motivation

Circular value creation models face considerable economic challenges, for which various causes are being discussed. Particularly relevant for the implementation of circular models is the position of the key players within regional
value creation systems and, in connection with this, their potential influence on
the supply of used products and (recycled) materials. In the absence of comprehensively established sustainable business models, this reduces the potential that can be realised through the circular economy.

Goal

The aim of the preliminary scientific study WeR³t-Netze is to identify data-driven and resource-efficient services and business models for regional circular economies and to derive the corresponding research requirements.

Technologies

The study examines how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular can create synergies, make optimal use of local resources and increase their resilience in regional networks with innovative services and business models. To this end, a
shared vision and understanding of sustainability based on existing solutions and offerings, such as digital marketplaces, other platforms, digital product passports and digital twins, are fundamental prerequisites that can be systematically developed through backcasting.
