HKNR Tracking system for electricity from renewable energy sources

Motivation

The European Union guideline 2009/28/EG to support the usage of energy from renewable sources obligates it's member states to create a tracking system for guarantees of origin of electricity from renewable sources.

This project assists the german ministry of environment to lay out the guildelines of such a system as well as create the technological infrastructure to run it.

It is particularly important to address the complex legal questions arising from the topic, thus possibly resulting in alternative approaches to formulate the required national laws.

Additionally the system is to be created and run as a software system, the design of which is also the scope of this project.

Goal

Assist the german ministry of environment implement the european guideline 2009/28/EG
