In the factory of the future, people and machines without safety barriers work together. This is particularly important for smaller production facilities. We are currently on our way there. OFFIS shows important intermediate steps using the example of an interaction and programming of a robot arm via virtual reality glasses.

Novel sensors and algorithms will make it possible to implement the interaction between humans and machines without the classical safety concepts that are still necessary today. This will massively improve cooperation in the future and make it possible to form real human-machine teams. For these complex interactions, new, simple programming options must be developed for the behavior of the various machines in the team.
OFFIS demonstrates this with an interactive exhibit showing immersive programming and automatic optimization. This fast and efficient way of programming also enables SMEs to react easily to changing processes - for example due to personalization or previously non-automated work steps.
Supported by the state of Lower Saxony, the Oldenburg computer science institute OFFIS is setting up an ICT centre for industry 4.0 in Lower Saxony and serves as a contact and advisor for SMEs in all questions of digitisation. We would be pleased to welcome you at the joint stand "Innovationsland Niedersachsen" in hall 2 - stand no. A08.
