In this work, we address the subject of Security-by-Design in Smart Grids. Our approach bases on designingtechnologies with the Smart Grid Architecture Model andexisting risk estimation formulas, where we will look atcharacteristics to help estimating failure probabilities.Afterwards we will discuss which way of combiningthese characteristics and failure probabilities fits best fora risk estimation and how it can be improved.
