„With us digital! The Centre for Lower Saxony and Bremen" helps SMEs to strengthen their competitiveness in the context of digitisation and industry 4.0. OFFIS operates the expert factory "Hardware and Software Systems" in this center, which offers training courses and expert dialogues on the topics of model-based design, simulation and rapid prototyping for the development of electronic industry 4.0 control systems.

Planning, fast integration and customer-specific adaptability are important differentiating features for Industrie 4.0 systems. With the selection of a suitable model-based development methodology in combination with a hardware/software platform for real-time capable control and regulation, decisive basics regarding the achievable flexibility are laid. Modern field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) in combination with integrated high-performance processors meet these flexibility requirements in an excellent way. During the training, participants will be able to understand the potential of this technology by means of different demonstrators and discuss different approaches to the use of the technologies in their own company.
