We started the OFFIS Science Forum in 2015 with a focus on the R&D Division Transportation. Last year we shifted the focus to  the Competence Clusters being inter-divisional. For the fifth Science Forum we set the focus to the Competence Clusters HMC (Human Machine Cooperation ) and MS2 (Co-Simulation of Multi-scale Multi-rate Systems).

About CC HMC

Depending on the application context, human-machine interaction and cooperation is subject to specific requirements regarding fitness for purpose; user-friendliness; acceptance; robustness; and security. Correspondingly, the Human Machine Cooperation competence cluster uses a variety of analysis, development, and evaluation methods to design and validate interactive or cooperative systems. Application focuses are, for example, assistive systems in vehicles, ships, healthcare, medicine, and personal health.

About CC MS2

Complex co-simulation models can significantly shorten the product development process and identify problematic issues relating to the interaction of many functions and components at an early stage. The Multi-Scale Multi-Rate Simulation competence cluster carries out virtual testing of prototypes; optimizes and validates design processes; and examines model creation for descriptive research. Over and above this, co-simulation itself is a research focus.

About the Science Forum

This Science Forum provides a friendly and supportive environment for you to present and discuss your scientific work (PhD or project/research topics) with both your colleagues and your scientific advisors.  The topic of your work should be related to the area of the Competence Cluster.

You have the opportunity

  • to present problems and key challenges of your scientific work,
  • to discuss plans, strategies, and methodologies to solve the problems,
  • to discover synergies with the work of other colleagues,
  • to extend your network.

By this Forum, others will get aware of your work and you will get fruitful feedback and advice for continuing your work.

Organizational Issues

The 5th Science Forum will take place on:

February 28, 2019 from 15:00 - 17:30

You are cordially invited to participate actively at this event.

For planning the event we need your first feedback until January 31, 2019 by filling out the form (Google-Docs-Link).
