Elke Beck is a research assistant in the Interactive Systems group in the R&D division Health. She is currently working in the AEQUIPA project, doing research on technology-based interventions on the basis of sensor-detected vital parameters in order to preserve the mobility of older adults.
Elke Beck’s background is in communication science.

She holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Salzburg, where she also worked as a Research Fellow at the Center for Human-Computer Interaction. There, she was involved in several international research projects in the field of HCI, such as CITIZEN MEDIA and ANIKETOS. She was engaged in the Christian Doppler Laboratory “Contextual Interfaces”, doing basic research on video as knowledge transfer and a communication tool in the design process for interactive systems.
