Whereas, excessive charging load of high penetration of the vehicles can impose technical challenges on distribution networks in the near future. This paper evaluates the effects of uncoordinated in-home and public charging station of a large number of PEVs on a real distribution feeder and also proposes a coordinated charging approach. The proposed approach minimizes the daily power losses of the network considering operation constraints. Also, a stochastic algorithm based on Monte Carlo simulation is presented taking into account the uncertainty of PEV owners' commuting behavior. The entire model is applied on a real medium-voltage feeder of Tehran Province Distribution Company in Lavasan city in Iran. As the results show, uncoordinated charging of high-penetrated PEVs can jeopardize the reliability of the network. Implementing the proposed smart charging scheme can alleviate the probable challenges.} } @COMMENT{Bibtex file generated on }
