This technology cluster encompasses all methodological, conceptual, technical, and organizational methodologies and procedures for the handling of generally large and heterogeneous databases with the objective to extract information and new knowledge from the data. These technologies are applied, for example, in the support of the epidemiological research in health care, the data quality man-agement in distributed energy management, and for the development of driver assistance systems in transportation.
