The use of common (international) standards is prerequisite for sharing information across healthcare organisations. It is evident that implementing standards and achieving interoperability is complex and it requires special attention to improve the quality. Quality Management is a well known discipline, but investigations have demonstrated that Quality Management for interoperability testing is a non-existing or at least a very immature discipline in the healthcare domain. This paper describes the results of the HITCH project in defining a Quality Management System for interoperability testing.
